One June day in 2020 it was the epicenter of a glass-spewn smash-and-grab crime scene, resembling more of an apocalyptic movie set than the high-end retail and tourist mecca for which SoHo is well known. The next I woke up to find myself living in the middle of a gallery, brought into technicolor focus in real time by artists transforming the plywood covered storefronts into moving, vibrant messages of hope, inspiration, dreams, humanity, empathy, and community.
