I live in the middle of a location scouter’s candy store. The cinematic narrative possibilities in SoHo and TriBeCa are certainly no secret; it is a rare week when there isn’t a production either actively or imminently filming within a 10 block radius of my front door. And thanks to my active black Lab and scouting partner, he and I have discovered exactly which spots on which blocks and at what time the natural pools of light bounce off buildings and windows just so.

So when I was contacted via Instagram by producer, actor and model Christina Jolie Breza about my work and to chat about possible ideas for a collaborative personal shoot—and our interests aligned in shooting something cinematic and noir—I knew exactly where to do it: on Mercer Street between Spring Street and Broome Street and on Courtlandt Alley, a stretch of three blocks below Canal Street made iconic by many productions filmed in New York, including Boardwalk Empire, Gotham, and Men in Black, just to name a few.
